In this Two Day Workshop I’ll personally guide you through the wonderful world of hand building pottery! Whether you’re a beginner or have some experience, this workshop is designed to explore all the key techniques: coiling, pinching, and creating unique surface decorations for your pots.
We’ll cover a wide array of forms, from cups and bowls to larger vessels, giving you the chance to really immerse yourself in clay crafting. For those with more experience, we’ll tailor the workshop to focus on techniques that align with your interests and goals, helping you refine your skills and create pieces that inspire you.
The beauty of a two-day workshop is the opportunity it provides to explore more complex ideas and work on larger pieces. It’s a chance to take your time, contemplate your designs, and expand your knowledge of this beautiful material.
In our first session, we’ll dive into working with soft clay, starting with coil building and also creating slabs that will eventually become plates. On the second day, as the clay firms up, we’ll refine your creations, adding final touches and even attachments like handles to complete your pieces.
For the work that you decide to fire, there will be a charge of £5 per kilogram to cover materials and fuel.
The workshop runs between 10:30am and 14:30pm on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th September.
